Announcing Service Window: Updates to Kolab..
This Saturday, 31st of July 2021 at 08:00 UTC, the Kolab Now operations team will perform an update of the Kolab dashboard software on the Kolab Now platform.
The update will have no impact on the webmail client or other clients connected via e.g. IMAP or ActiveSync. It will add a few features for our current users, and some more for future ones. Of course we also take the opportunity to fix a number of minor defects with the same update.
The service window is expected to last for no more than 1 hour, ending on Saturday, 31st of July 2021, at 09:00 UTC
In the new update, the user will get new options in the dashboard. These will make it possible to:
- Set and decide on the response to Sender Preferred Framework (SPF) for the group admin users
- Opt out of the greylist feature for users
SPF:
If a mail is not accepted by Kolab Now for delivery because of standard SPF policy, a group manager can login to the dashboard and select the Domains button. A new tab has been created here (Settings), in which the group manager can add specific sender domains to a whitelist. These domains will then be accepted for delivery despite violating the Kolab Now SPF statement. |

Greylisting:
To combat spammers, Kolab Now has long been running a greylist policy. Information about this can be found here. It is now possible for users themselves to opt out of the greylisting. To do so, login to the dashboard, go to the User profile, select the new tab (Settings), and uncheck the Greylisting checkbox. |
Users can follow the status of the update via the Kolab Ops Twitter account. They can keep working and collaborating online as usual.
